Hasan Harandi:
"After being hit by the missile, I could only tell my rear cockpit not to eject. He knew the situation and said he wouldn't. We lowered altitude to land. When an aircraft is hit by a missile, many things happened. Fire lights and many warning lights might turned on. We turned them all off and went towards Omidiyyeh Base. Ten miles to the west of Karun, we'd lost all our fuel. The engines went off one by one. We were in a plane with no fuel, no engine, and nothing to control the aircraft. At last we had to eject. We came down and the guys took us to Ahvaz by helicopter. They stitched my face there. Then went to Isfahan by C-130."

Mehreganfar and Harandi serve until the end of the war in many missions in the air forces. Most importantly, they trained F-5 and F-4 pilots who entered Isfahan Air Base in the middle of the war to fly the F-14. Those pilots retired from the Air Force with the rank of colonel, and ever since, they have been working passenger airliners.
Tom Cooper, the author of 《Iranian F-14 Tomcat Units in combat》 release an interesting story whose heroes are the pilots of F-14s that were in charge of backing up Phantoms. General Maher Abdul Rashid, commander of the Divisions in the Iraqi army, and a member of Saddam's family, meets the Tomcats.

3-6014号机是交付给伊朗空军的第14架雄猫----至今仍在81TFS中队里服役,此机之前是一架专用教练机,但是完成了大修后于2013年3月重新返回一线作战部队。
Tom Cooper:
"The intercepts according to Iraqi resources queued on tenet of November 1982, is another story that shows us the certain periods of the war are not their document by the Iranian side, but the Iranian Air Force. On the given date, two Iraqi generals touring the front lines along the center part of the border between Iran and Iraq. For this purpose, they were on board of two Mi-8 helicopters. And these helicopters were guarded by pairs of MiG-21s and MiG-23s.
"And, I interviewed the Iraqi pilot who flew in one of these helicopters. And he said 'all of sudden, there is a MiG-23 falling down from the sky, spiraling down. And we knew that we were close enough to the front lines. For this fighter been shot down by Iranian SAM sites or whatever other ground base with their weapons. And another one spiraling down, in a flame, boom, crashed, that's it. I was really in panic because I did not what he said, did not know what was going on over there. What shot down our fighters and whatever it was…that was sitting in the fighters, it could shoot the helicopters with my general and I was response for this general. As saw, we really turned around, and flew as low as possible and escaped.' That was his story."
